Tottenham are really thinking about making last-minute move to sign ‘outstanding’ Premier League star

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘seriously considering’ a last-minute move to sign Chelsea star Conor Gallagher this week.

Spurs continue to be linked with a move for the Englishman as Ange Postecoglou bids to bolster his midfield before Thursday’s deadline.

There have been claims that Chelsea could agree to the sale of their academy product this week, despite the fact that Conor Gallagher has been a key man under Mauricio Pochettino this term.

It’s no secret that Spurs hold a strong interest in signing Gallagher, with Postecoglou said to be a huge fan of the midfielder.

And according to , Tottenham are weighing up a late move to test Chelsea’s resolve ahead of the deadline.

Tottenham weighing up late Gallagher move

The Times claims that Spurs are really thinking about a late bid to sign Gallagher this week.

It’s noted that Chelsea are willing to offload the midfielder for the right price. Gallagher has just 18 months left on his current deal and the sale of an academy product would count as ‘pure profit’ for the Blues.

Spurs attempted to land the Englishman over the summer but the outlet states that the north London club ‘baulked’ at Chelsea’s £50 million price tag.

It has been widely claimed that Spurs would need to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to fund a deal to sign Gallagher this month.

It looks as if the Dane is set to stay at Tottenham until the summer, barring any late surprises.

Yet, Spurs continue to be linked with a late move for Gallagher and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them test Chelsea’s resolve in the final days of the window.

The 23-year-old feels like an ideal fit for Postecoglou’s system and is enjoying an ‘outstanding’ campaign with Chelsea.

Whether or not Gallagher would be open to leaving his boyhood club this week remains to be seen, especially as he’s stood in as captain regularly this term.
