Tottenham are ready to sell Emerson Royal in January – journalist
Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have made Emerson Royal available for sale in this month’s transfer window.
The Brazilian joined Spurs from Barcelona in the summer of 2021. There was a lot of excitement about his arrival following his brilliant performances in La Liga with Real Betis, but it has to be said that things haven’t worked out for him in North London.
In the next few weeks, he could be gone.

Emerson was a star in La Liga when he was at Real Betis. He was great going forward and not too bad defensively, and that made many think he would be an excellent player for Spurs.
However, he has been really poor more often than not in the Premier League.
Antonio Conte has preferred Matt Doherty at right-back over the Brazilian, while links to the likes of Denzel Dumfries and Sporting Libson’s Pedro Porro have been around almost every day over the last two months.
It seems pretty clear that Spurs will entertain offers for Emerson, and Jones has just backed that claim. However, only the right offer will be accepted.
The journalist told : “The Emerson report is bang on. He is available, but it’s only going to happen at the right price and you need a club to come into the picture.
“I don’t yet know if that will happen, especially to a degree and a level that suits Tottenham.”

Tottenham spent £25.8 million () to sign Emerson from Barcelona about 18 months ago. They’ll be lucky to get two-thirds of that fee now after how poor he has been.
However, the Brazilian, , is still a very good full-back for clubs in some of the other top European leagues.
He has already proven his class in Spain with Betis, while his style of play could really help him thrive in countries like Italy and France as well.
That definitely does open doors for Tottenham to find buyers, but they will have to accept a loss if want him gone in this month’s transfer window.
