Tottenham are ready to make £40m bid to sign ‘world class’ striker

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make their first move of the summer.

Spurs have plenty of work to do in this upcoming transfer window, but perhaps the most important piece of business the north London club have to tend to is signing a new striker.

Indeed, after selling Harry Kane last summer, Spurs need to get a new centre-forward through the door.

Luckily, help could be on the way as it’s now been reported that Spurs are ready to make a move for a ‘’ striker.

Tottenham ready to make Ivan Toney bid

According to Football Transfers, Tottenham are ready to make a big-money bid for Ivan Toney.

Toney is a top player who could transform Spurs as a side.

According to this report, Tottenham are ready to make a £40m offer for Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

Toney has been tipped to make a big move for a long time now, and apparently, Tottenham have jumped to the front of the queue in this race.

Toney is currently with the England squad ahead of Euro 2024, and it looks like Spurs are trying to get the wheels in motion to get the striker signed up.

Ivan Toney could be ideal for Tottenham

Toney could be just the player Tottenham need heading into next season.

Since losing Kane, Spurs have lacked something of a cutting edge in the attack.

Indeed, while Heung-Min Son has stepped up, he’s much better of the left wing, while Richarlison has continued to be patchy in terms of his form.

Toney, on the other hand, is a player who is a proven source of goals at this level while he’s also brilliant in terms of linking play and setting up his teammates.

Whether or not £40m is enough to pry Toney away from Brentford remains to be seen, but if Spurs can land the striker for this price it would be a serious bargain.
