Tottenham are now ‘very likely’ to sell £40m player at the end of the season

Tottenham Hotspur have endured a mixed start to the 2024-25 campaign as Ange Postecoglou aims to win a trophy in his second season in charge of the club.

The Australian spearheaded Tottenham to a fifth-place finish last season and made as many as four summer signings to fine-tune his squad as Dominic Solanke, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert and Archie Gray all joined the club.

Postecoglou has a fantastic squad with the right blend of youth and experience and will look to retain most of his players while also making a couple of additions in the upcoming transfer windows.

However, it appears as if one of his key players could be on his way out of the club in 2025.

Pedro Porro has been a fantastic signing for Tottenham since joining the club 18 months ago for around from Sporting CP.

The 25-year-old’s ability on both ends of the pitch has made him an indispensable asset for Postecoglou as he continues to establish himself as one of the best right-backs in world football.

In recent weeks, there have been reports that Real Madrid want to sign Porro in 2025 as they remain on the lookout for a right back after Dani Carvajal’s ACL injury.

Porro himself came out and said he was flattered to be linked with Real Madrid, which is a sign that he’d be open to a transfer.

Now, according to a report from , Tottenham are ‘very likely’ to lose the Spanish international next year as he continues to welcome interest from Real Madrid and other clubs.

There has been no official bid or communication between any of the parties involved so far, but it remains to be seen if the situation changes in the coming weeks.

Losing Porro would be a huge blow for Tottenham

Over the years, Tottenham have always lost their brightest talents to some of the biggest clubs in the world and that trend looks likely to continue with Porro.

He’s focused on Tottenham for the time being, but it remains to be seen what he will do if Real Madrid decide to step up their interest in him.

Porro’s chances of breaking into the Spain squad will also be boosted if he secures a move to Real Madrid, making this transfer one worth keeping an eye on.
