Tottenham are now saying that they will try and sign a new player immediately if £30m star is sold
Tottenham have a bit of work to do this January.
The north London club are already in the centre-back market, seemingly closing in on the signing of Radu Dragusin from Genoa, while more incomings could also be on the cards.
Tottenham also need to get rid of a few players too. Hugo Lloris has already gone, while Eric Dier is also very much surplus to requirements at Spurs.
One player who is continuously linked with a move away from Tottenham is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and speaking on , Tom Barclay has now shared what he’s heard about Hojbjerg.
Barclay hasn’t necessarily heard that Hojbjerg is set to be sold, but he has consistently heard that if Tottenham do sell the man, they will be signing a replacement.

Tottenham will replace Hojbjerg if he goes
Barclay shared what he’s been hearing from Tottenham.
“Onto Hojbjerg, the consistent message coming out of Tottenham is that if they were to let a midfielder like that go then they would have to replace him in this window, especially with Sarr and Bissouma being away. I would be surprised if they let him go and didn’t replace him in the same window,” Barclay said.
Would be short
It’s good to hear that Spurs would be planning to replace Hojbjerg, because they would be short in the midfield if he did leave.
Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are off to the African Cup of Nations this month, while Rodrigo Bentancur has had continuous injury issues over the past 12 months.
Numbers can be just as important as quality in the Premier League, especially in a position such as the midfield, and Spurs would find themselves short if they sold Hojbjerg without a replacement lined up.
Keep an eye on new additions at Tottenham if Hojbjerg does edge towards an exit.
