Tottenham are now ‘in a hurry’ to sign ‘powerful’ player, they’re the favourites to get him

Tottenham Hotspur’s plans for the summer transfer window are already underway.

Ange Postecoglou has done a tremendous job at Spurs since he took the job last summer. He has completely changed their style of play and has truly transformed the atmosphere around the club.

Tottenham are in with a chance of finishing in the Champions League places this season. That would be a great achievement considering where they were this time last year.

Postecoglou deserves all the praise in the world, but he knows his side will struggle if they don’t strengthen in the summer. A new defender seems to be the priority, and they’ve been heavily linked with one who plays in Italy.

Tottenham are ‘in a hurry’ to sign Italian defender

Tottenham have a lot of positives to take this season.

Their style of play is definitely one of them, and the performances of many of their attacking players deserve a lot of praise as well.

Tottenham’s defenders, when they are all fit, have done well too, but numbers show that they have the joint-worst defensive record in the top six at the moment. That’s why they need help!

It is no secret that Spurs will bring in a new defender this summer, and Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori has been linked with a move to Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The ‘‘ 21-year-old has been on Tottenham’s radar since the January transfer window, and there is a chance he will leave Bologna in the summer.

claim that Tottenham are ‘very interested’ in Calafiori and are ‘in a hurry’ to sign him. It has further been claimed that Spurs are leading the race for his signature.

Calafiori, who is tied down to a contract at Bologna until 2027, will be available for £21.3 million plus bonuses, claims the report.

Riccardo Calafiori would solve two problems at Tottenham

Tottenham have been really smart with their recruitment over the last year.

Ange Postecoglou has strengthened multiple areas of the pitch, and his side don’t just have a solid starting lineup but also some decent depth as well.

However, there are areas of the pitch where Tottenham can improve, especially if their main starters in those positions get injured or suspended.

Ben Davies, who will turn 31 next month, is Tottenham’s backup at left-centre-back and left-back. Yes, Radu Dragusin is there now, but he’s right-footed and playing him on the opposite side affects the balance of the team.

A left-footed option to provide cover for Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie would make Tottenham stronger, and Riccardo Calafiori has the ability to play in both roles.

That’s probably why Tottenham are interested in signing him this summer.
