Tottenham are currently unlikely to sign James Garner – Romano
Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to sign James Garner this summer despite the midfielder working on a potential move away from Manchester United, .
Garner’s future has become a key talking point at the start of this week. Perhaps surprisingly, he has not featured for Manchester United at the start of this campaign.

Reports claimed that Tottenham are one of a number of sides monitoring Garner. And it was suggested that Manchester United would sell the 21-year-old for just £14 million.
But there are plenty of other admirers. Everton, Southampton and Leeds are also admirers of Garner. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest could also show an interest in bringing him back to the City Ground after his successful loan last season.

It does not appear that Antonio Conte necessarily needs to sign Garner this summer. Tottenham have four superb central midfielders in their squad. They have a player with the ability of Harry Winks currently not getting a look-in in North London.
However, the opportunity to sign Garner for just £14 million clearly appeals. And some may feel that Spurs simply have to make a move while they have the chance.
Unfortunately for those fans, it seems that Garner may be headed elsewhere. Romano has now provided an update on Garner’s situation. And he suggested that a move to Tottenham does not appear to be on the cards.
James Garner has good chances to leave Manchester United in the next days. There are 3/4 Premier League clubs interested – Tottenham unlikely as things stand. 🚨🏴
His agents at Triple S, Kenneth Shepherd and Steven Beck, are working on it – talks ongoing.

Tottenham unlikely to sign James Garner
It is not clear why a move to Tottenham is looking unlikely. But the amount of depth Spurs have in the middle of the park is surely a factor.
They will have other priorities for the final stages of the window. And they may be looking to use most of their remaining budget on those players.
Garner is a ‘‘ talent. But perhaps the chance to land him has just cropped up at the wrong time for Tottenham.
