Tottenham and Roma reportedly set for talks over defender Toby Alderweireld
Tottenham and Roma are set to engage in talks today over the sale of Toby Alderweireld,
Alderweireld has a £25 million release clause but Franco Baldini is set to try and get that price down when he meets with Daniel Levy in Rome today.
Baldini used to be sporting director at Tottenham and may use that relationship with Levy to get a deal done for the Belgian international, who claim earns £80,000 per week.
He of course has just the one year left on his current deal at Spurs and it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if the Belgian were to leave this summer.

This is a scenario Tottenham must have been prepared for and perhaps that explains their sudden interest in William Saliba,
Alderweireld had a great season last season in spite of his lingering contract uncertainty and will be a big miss at the heart of the backline.
But Levy will try and make sure his club gets the best deal possible and as much money as they can with which to replace him as it becomes as close it has perhaps been so far that Alderweireld will leave north London.
