Tottenham and Manchester United are both scouting international goalkeeper amid Guglielmo Vicario and Andre Onana’s recent howlers

TBR Football understands that Ivory Coast goalkeeper Yahia Fofana is attracting the attention of a host of clubs following his impressive campaign with Angers.

The 24-year-old Paris-born shot-stopper has been in top form for Angers and he is currently helping keep them away from the Ligue 1 drop zone.

TBR Football can confirm that several Premier League clubs have been alerted to his performances and have been to watch the shot-stopper.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are among the clubs who are keen on the Ivorian international amid question marks over the future of their number one goalkeepers.

Tottenham and Manchester United go to watch Yahia Fofana

Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham were all represented at Angers’ impressive 2-0 weekend win over Montpellier, sources have told Graeme Bailey – chief correspondent at TBR Football.

Guglielmo Vicario’s disastrous performance against Wolves, as the Italian was at fault for two of the hosts’ goals, may have the North London club questioning his future.

Both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir struggled to impress for Manchester United in the last two matches, with the former being dropped for the club’s defeat at St James’ Park.

Elswhere, Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brentford and Nottingham Forest have also checked on Fofana in recent weeks.

BlueCo keen on rivalling Premier League clubs for Yahia Fofana

BlueCo are also impressed with Fofana, and despite the fact that Chelsea insist they are not looking at other goalkeepers, work is being done on several options.

Of course, Fofana could also be of interest to Strasbourg – who could need a new number one if they move on from Djordje Petrovic, currently on loan from Chelsea.

Petrovic’s performances at Starsbourg have been impressive and there is a sense that the Serbian goalkeeper could become the Blues’ new number one.

Strasbourg may well be able to offer Fofana European football next season as they are flying in Ligue 1 with just two points separating them from third place.
