Tottenham agree deal in principle to sell ‘unbelievable’ Nuno Espirito Santo signing

Tottenham Hotspur have now agreed a deal to sell a player who made 24 appearances for Ange Postecoglou in the manager’s debut season.

Spurs have been busy in recent days preparing the announcement of exciting new signing Yan Min-Hyeok.

A deal for the 18-year-old was announced on Sunday, and Min-Hyeok will be joining Tottenham in January, another excellent young player for Postecoglou to work with.

That being said, departures will be just as important as new signings for Spurs in the coming weeks as they look to overhaul their squad.

And to that end, TBR Football understands that Tottenham have now agreed a deal in principle with AC Milan for the transfer of Emerson Royal to the Italian club.

It’s long been believed that Emerson would leave north London this summer, a player who doesn’t necessarily suit Postecoglou’s plans moving forward.

And now only the finer details need resolving between Spurs and Milan before ‘unbelievable‘ Emerson heads to the Serie A.

Tottenham defender Emerson Royal expected to undergo AC Milan medical this week

TBR previously shared that Emerson ‘dreamed’ of moving to the San Siro given the club’s historic ties to Brazilian players.

And TBR can now confirm that personal terms have been finalised with Emerson’s representatives and they are now just waiting to fly to Milan for the 25-year-old’s medical, which is expected later this week.

Milan are also set to complete the signing of RB Salzburg’s Strahinja Pavlovic, a 23-year-old left-sided centre-back.

Pavlovic’s arrival in Milan will allow the club to sanction the sale of Malick Thiaw to Newcastle, and that money will help cover the cost of Pavlovic and Emerson.

Of course, selling Emerson for a good fee would be a significant win for Tottenham who could then look to reinvest those funds on a better-suited defender.

Although Archie Gray can now provide cover for Pedro Porro at right-back, Spurs are still severely understaffed at full-back.

Perhaps former Tottenham player Kyle Walker-Peters, who is capable of playing on both sides of Postecoglou’s defence, could then become an option.

Although it seems as if a different Premier League side could beat Tottenham to Walker-Peters this summer.
