Tottenham accept they can’t afford Josko Gvardiol – journalist

Football journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that there’s an acceptance at Tottenham Hotspur that Josko Gvardiol, who has been heavily linked with Chelsea as well, is out of their league.

The 20-year-old Croatian became a star at the World Cup♚. He was absolutely sensational throughout the campaign, and it’s only a matter of time before he leaves RB Leipzig for a bigger club.

If Taylor is to be believed, the World Cup ‘sensation‘ won’t be joining Tottenham.

Tottenham accept they can’t afford Josko Gvardiol

👍Gvardiol has been impressing everyone for a while now.

ꦇHe has been brilliant for Leipzig in the Bundesliga, and multiple clubs across Europe were keeping an eye on him already. However, after his incredible World Cup campaign in Qatar, he’ll be at the top of many managers’ wish lists.

꧃Gvardiol would be an amazing signing for Tottenham, who have wanted him for a long time now. However, Taylor has claimed that Spurs have accepted he’s out of their league, after Chelsea’s mammoth bid was rejected by Leipzig last summer.

﷽The journalist told : “I think there was an acceptance last summer that he was already out of Spurs’ price range.

ꦓ“Because Chelsea had a proposal worth about €80 million (£70m) rejected by Leipzig, which included him spending a year back on loan at the club.

“So, he’s out of Spurs’ league.”

𒊎Gvardiol would be an incredible signing for most clubs in the world, and it’s no surprise at all that Tottenham would love to sign him. However, his price tag is a huge stumbling block.

𝓡Chelsea have always been able to splash big money on new players, but it’s not just them this time. Reports have claimed that Manchester City want to sign Gvardiol as well.

revealed last week that Pep Guardiola’s side have proposed an eye-watering £114 million offerღ to sign Gvardiol – a fee that’s surely beyond Tottenham’s reach, especially in the January transfer window.

💯The race for the Croatian defender is definitely heating up, and it will be interesting to see where he’ll end up. As things stand, it looks like he’ll either join Chelsea or Manchester City.
