‘Too good for this league’: Some Sunderland fans blown away by player’s ‘lethal’ Friday display
A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to praise Glasgow Rangers loanee Jordan Jones for his latest Black Cats masterclass since swapping Ibrox for the Stadium of Light.
The 26-year-old joined Sunderland on loan from Rangers at the end of January and has made 11 appearances to date for Lee Johnson’s side.
Jones’ efforts have helped the Stadium of Light outfit surge into automatic promotion contention.
As things stand, Sunderland sit third in League One with games in hand on the top two.

Sunderland’s latest win came on Friday, a 3-1 triumph over Oxford United at the Stadium of Light, with the Ibrox loanee putting in a superb performance.
The Black Cats had to come from behind to seal the victory after James Henry gave the visitors a 21st-minute lead.
Lynden Gooch equalised for Sunderland in first-half stoppage time, while Aiden McGeady put the hosts ahead nine minutes of time and Max Power made sure of victory late on.
And Jones was instrumental in all of Sunderland’s best attacking play, his standout moment coming when he waltzed past two Oxford players to assist Gooch’s goal.
The Northern Irishman also struck the bar in the second half and caused the opposition defence no end of problems right until he was substituted.
Needless to say, Sunderland fans are delighted with Jones’ efforts:
Absolutely superb stuff from Jordan Jones. On a plate for Gooch. Perfect time to score after a largely difficult first half.

Jordan Jones was fantastic today, Northern Ireland missed his presence this week even of the bench with the impact he can make. He was everywhere for Sunderland this afternoon and his assist for Lyndon Gooch’s goal was quality. Caused Oxford United so many problems throughout.

Jordan Jones is my idea of what a Sunderland attacker should be. He’s skilful, elusive, swaggering, and he can weave magic with a football at his feet. Signing him in the summer should surely be a priority for KLD. Classy player. 🔴⚪️

If Jordan Jones is going for £600k I’d be snapping their hands off

I genuinely believe that Jordan Jones is one of the most exciting, dangerous wide players we’ve had since Allan Johnston was illuminating the SOL in the late 1990s. And what’s even better is that he’s still got room for improvement. 🔴⚪️

Baller you pal, too good for this league

He’s lethal. We literally haven’t had anyone as exciting since Johnson you are correct.
