Tony Mowbray wants Leeds United promoted, but has warning for club
Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has been praising Leeds United after the clubs clashed this weekend and admitted a soft spot for the club. However, he also had a Premier League warning for the Whites.
Leeds claimed a 3-1 win over Rovers to continue their promotion push with goals from Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips, and Mateusz Klich doing the damage.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Scot made his feelings clear that he is hoping Leeds can be as successful as Sheffield United in the Premier League next season.
However, he also stated his belief that the Whites will need to improve their squad if they are going to fulfill their potential.
“I think the football world is looking forward to seeing Leeds in the Premier League to see how they get on against genuine class. Because at this moment I don’t know how much money they’ll have to spend in the Premier League if they get there, but they will have to improve…
“Personally, Leeds is a club that as a kid I grew up in the ’70s watching the great Bremners and Giles’ and Jack Charlton’s been my manager twice so I like Leeds as a football club,” he continued.
“I hope they’re more Sheffield United than Norwich or Villa. But lets wait and see. It’ll be exciting for the English game if they can get to the Premier League. But they’ve still got some work to do.”
Leeds United fans are, of course, not yet counting their chickens regarding a return to the Premier League.
However, most would also admit that the club will need to bring in some recruits if they are going to stay in the top flight should promotion occur.
That is why the news of interest in a player like Odsonne Edouard of Celtic will have caused such excitement among the Leeds fanbase this week.
Hopefully, that is the calibre of targets Leeds will be targeting this summer when, all things going to plan, they are once again a Premier League team.
