Tony Mowbray comments on Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott
Tony Mowbray has labelled Harvey Elliott a diamond of a footballer as the Liverpool loanee bagged his first goal for Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, .
Elliott has taken little time to get going at Ewood Park. He made his debut for the club in midweek, and followed that up by playing a starring role in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Coventry City.

The 17-year-old scored and provided an assist as Rovers ended a run of three games without a win. He scored the visitors’ third, with a composed finish to lift the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper.
And after some good work down Coventry’s right flank, he cut the ball back for Sam Gallagher to score their fourth.
And following the game, Mowbray shared how excited he is to be working with a youngster of Elliott’s calibre as he backed the teenager for an incredibly bright future.

“He’s a wonderful personality for such a young boy really. You feel like a young boy when you’re talking to him to be fair. But he’s a diamond of a football player,” .
“I can see why he made his league debut at 15. Just to have somebody who’s so tight with the ball, so aware of space, of runners. He sees all the pictures really.
“He’s a Premier League player. Liverpool know what they’ve got, I’m sure.”
, he made six key passes during the game. Only three other players managed more than one, and none managed more than four.
Meanwhile, he also topped Blackburn’s charts for successful challenges.
And if that is a sign of what is to come from Elliott over the coming months, there is surely no question that he will be in a fantastic position upon his return to Liverpool.
