Tony Dorigo says that Leeds attacker Jack Harrison has not always got his rewards

Tony Dorigo believes that Leeds United attacker Jack Harrison has not always got the reward this season that his performances have merited, but he did shine in midweek during the 5-2 demolition of Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team picked up a much-needed three points by dismantling Newcastle at Elland Road in a dramatic end to the game where they scored three late goals.

Harrison, who is a regular in the Leeds XI, went into the contest with just one goal and two assists all season.

But the 24-year-old scored one and assisted another against Newcastle to help boost his figures, with his goal a memorable long-range strike that flew into the top corner to cap off a counter-attack

He’s a hard-working left-winger that always makes Bielsa’s XI and not scoring regular goals is perhaps the only negative mark against his name.

“Harrison, for him to get the goal [against Newcastle], I’m delighted for him. I think sometimes he’s played really well and not got his rewards, so he’s missed probably one or two easy chances. I do think he should be scoring a few more goals,” Dorigo told

TBR’s View:

Harrison is now in his third loan spell at Leeds from parent club Manchester City and it’s no surprise that the Premier League giants have a player of his talent on their books still.

The skilful wide player is great with both feet, full of energy and has many qualities of a traditional winger with his directness in possession.

Leeds tend to share the goals around their team and there were five different goalscorers against Newcastle, but Harrison will need to boost his individual numbers significantly if he has ambitions of breaking into the England squad in the future.
