Tony Dorigo says he’s now hoping for more from 22-year-old star
Tony Dorigo has given a mixed verdict on Leeds United’s Tyler Roberts, stating that it can only be unlucky so often when it comes to his missed goalscoring chances.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has impressed during his league appearances this season, but he’s had the weight on his shoulders that he had never scored in the Premier League.
However, he broke that duck with a goal earlier in the week during the victory against Southampton.
Dorigo has pointed out that the Welshman needs to significantly improve that area of his game, but overall is positive in the sense he feels there is more to come from him.
“It might sound silly, but it’s so important he does score,” Dorigo told .
“He’s played well, he’s deserved goals, he’s set a few up as well. What’s missing from that position on the pitch is goals, he finally gets one, and hopefully now we’ll see a load to come.
“You can only say unlucky so often, that’s the thing, but you’re right, even then he tried to miss. However, it came back to him, and he slotted it away great. So no doubt we’ll see plenty more.”

TBR’s View:
If Roberts is to be in Leeds’ best XI, then he’s still got plenty of improving to do.
He enjoyed an extended run in the starting line up between February to May due to injuries within the squad, and put in some eye-catching performances.
Apart from his end product, his all-round game has everything that Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa looks for when assembling a team to play high intensity football.
He showed composure to slot in his low finish against Southampton, and he could be a vital part of the squad at Elland Road next year if he can sharpen up his finishing during the summer.
