Tony Dorigo reacts to Jamie Shackleton display in Leeds draw
Tony Dorigo that Jamie Shackleton did well after coming on during Leeds United’s draw with Burnley, and suggested that his introduction was a key factor in their equaliser at Turf Moor.
Patrick Bamford came to Leeds’ rescue against the Clarets. The striker scored a late goal after a frustrating day for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

It had appeared that they may be heading for a second defeat of the campaign. Chris Wood had given Sean Dyche’s men the lead on the hour.
With Leeds struggling to stamp their authority on the game, Bielsa made an intriguing change, bringing Shackleton on for Diego Llorente.
Llorente had arguably been Leeds’ best defender before being replaced. And Shackleton is a young player still trying to force his way into the side on a consistent basis.

But actually, the decision proved to be a very good one. Shackleton was incredibly lively, and went on to play a key role in the equaliser.
It was his attempt that was deflected into Bamford’s path. And the striker managed to flick the ball into the bottom corner.
Many Leeds fans lauded Shackleton after the draw. And Dorigo agreed that the 21-year-old made a real impact after coming on.
“He did,” , when asked whether Shackleton did well. “A lot of energy as well up and down that right-hand side.
“And certainly, McNeil was the one who was the danger for Burnley and he came on and took him the other way. McNeil at the end of the game didn’t want to go backwards and we found a bit of space.”
Jamie Shackleton needs to kick on after international break after impressive cameo for Leeds against Burnley
It looks to be a pivotal season for Shackleton. He is a player that the fans are desperate to see succeed at Elland Road.
However, he is yet to take that next space in his development. He has shown promise on the right flank and in the middle of the park.
But he has not quite managed to stamp his authority on a place in the side. He has certainly shown more than a few glimpses of his quality.
It seems potentially imperative therefore, that he impresses when he gets chances this term.
There is no doubt that he is off to a brilliant start.
