Tony Dorigo makes claim on Leeds starlet Joe Gelhardt
Tony Dorigo that everything he has heard about Joe Gelhardt shows Leeds United have incredibly high hopes for the forward, insisting that he will be buzzing after the international break.
Gelhardt has long been considered one of the best prospects in the ranks at Thorp Arch. It certainly seems to be a surprise to many that he is yet to make a first-team debut.

But his stock continues to rise. And this week, he managed to score twice for England’s under-20s. It was actually his debut, with the 19-year-old coming off the bench in the early stages.
And Dorigo has suggested that those at Leeds will have certainly taken note of his performance while away on international duty.
“Everything I’ve heard about him suggests there are really high hopes for him at Leeds,” .

“Those Under-20 games are important as you progress, to show what you can do, to show you can score goals and play against different types, styles and countries.
“What a great start for him. He will be buzzing when he returns to Thorp Arch this week.”
Could Joe Gelhardt make Leeds debut later this month after England exploits and Dorigo praise?
You can understand why Marcelo Bielsa has not yet used Gelhardt. Despite his versatility, he is battling for a place where Leeds have two outstanding players in Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo.
And Leeds’ attacking options have now become even more stacked, with Dan James arriving.
But there looks to be a fantastic opportunity emerging on the horizon.
Leeds face Fulham in the Carabao Cup later this month. And that may perhaps be the perfect time to hand Gelhardt a chance.
Admittedly, Bielsa used a strong side against Crewe in the previous round. But surely, the time has come for Gelhardt to be given a chance to prove that he can step up.
He can hardly prove much more playing for the under-23s. And he is now making an impact on the international stage.
