‘Tomorrow’…£25m player is ready to fly to London and sign for Tottenham before Monday

Tottenham Hotspur are close to completing the signing of German forward Timo Werner and he is ready to fly to England this weekend.

Werner’s name has come as a big surprise this morning as Ange Postecoglou moves quickly to strengthen his squad in the window.

And it now looks like Werner is preparing to fly over to London in the coming days to put the finishing touches on the deal.

According to , final negotiations are underway between the clubs and the 27-year-old is expected to jet into England tomorrow.

Werner had been linked with a move to Manchester United but has reportedly chosen Tottenham over the former PL champions.

Werner signing to boost Spurs

There’s an element of risk in Tottenham moving for Timo Werner. His record in the Premier League is pretty dire and his goals of late have dried up as well.

But Tottenham boss Postecoglou clearly sees something in the German it’s a big signing really for Spurs.

There is an argument to be had that Werner might well have a point to prove given how his time in England went last time with Chelsea. He was often ridiculed and his lack of goals was a big talking point at times.

He’s done ok over in Leipzig ever since he made the but there is definitely more to come.

Werner did score goals prior to moving to Chelsea and Postecoglou will be hoping he can entice that out of a player who is coming into what should be his prime years.

If all goes well, Ange will be lauded as pulling off a masterstroke. If not, then he might have to just take it on the chin as one that didn’t go to plan.

Werner’s pace should be an asset for Tottenham under the Aussie and that’s one big element of his game that Spurs boss will be looking to utilise.
