Tom Pearce surely at risk if Leeds keep £4million-rated defender Leif Davis
Leeds United will welcome back left-sided flyer Tom Pearce in the summer following his loan spell in the second half of the season with League One club Scunthorpe United.
The 21-year-old featured five times under Marcelo Bielsa during the first half of the campaign, before exiting on a temporary basis for more regular first-team action.
He’s a left-back that has come through the academy ranks at Elland Road and is a great attacking threat when he bombs forward.
It’s unclear on what sort of role he can play next season for the Whites, but it certainly looks overcrowded in the full-back area.
Barry Douglas will hope for a stronger season next year with Leeds, while both Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas slotted in well at left-back when needed.
There is also academy prospect Leif Davis who may throw his name into the mix
Davis is another of the promising young stars from the Leeds academy and could be the next to make a serious breakthrough.
, Liverpool and Bournemouth are both eyeing the 19-year-old, but manager Marcelo Bielsa would prefer to keep him in Yorkshire.
It is understood that the Premier League duo are chasing the defender and he’s valued at around £4million.
Davis got a taste of senior football with five appearances this season, before an injury setback ruled him out in the final month.
It looks unlikely that there will be room for both Davis and Pearce, which is why the latter may be in trouble if the £4million-rated ace stays.
