Tom Huddlestone sends three-word message to Ryan Mason after Tottenham win
Ryan Mason became the youngster manager in the Premier League era to oversee a victory as he oversaw a 2-1 win for Tottenham against Southampton.
He took over from Jose Mourinho earlier this week on an interim basis and immediately got to work with a massive three points against the experienced Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Spurs had to do it the hard way. Danny Ings scored early on to get the nerves jangling, although goals from Gareth Bale and Son Heung-min ensured a big three points.

Mason’s playing career was cruelly ended after a horrendous head injury suffered whilst playing for Hull. Since retirement, he has been working with the academy at Tottenham.
He’s a respected figure and after leading Tottenham to victory he received some praise on Instagram from ex-Spurs star Tom Huddlestone and former Scotland international Charlie Adam.
At 29 Mason was younger than three players who started the game for Tottenham last night. At this early stage though it would seem as though the players are keen to work tirelessly for him.
There were occasions last night when it looked as though Spurs were still performing how Mourinho wanted them to but there was a clear difference in the mentality.

Spurs didn’t fold when they went a goal behind and that level of resilience to come back and claim three points will have delighted the supporters.
Bale was mesmerising, Son his usual energetic self and even at the back Spurs looked to show far more togetherness.
It’s early days, of course, but Mason might just prove to be a smart interim appointment by Daniel Levy.
If he can oversee a Carabao Cup win over Manchester City on Sunday, his name will be etched into Tottenham folklore forever.
