Toby Alderweireld comments on Tottenham fans in new stadium
that the supporters at the new stadium gave the players the extra boost required to finally overcome Brighton on Tuesday evening.
Chris Hughton’s side came within a whisker of gaining a point, with the likes of Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk impressing at the back for Brighton. But Christian Eriksen broke the deadlock in the 88th minute.
The Denmark captain lashed an effort home from all of 25 yards to keep Spurs’ impressive run at their new stadium intact. They have won all four games played at the new ground, without conceding a single goal.
Alderweireld – whose future remains in doubt as his contract expires at the end of next season – stated that the support from fans at the new stadium kept Spurs going right until the last.

“You could see the time ticking away but we have the players to make the difference,” . “At this stadium, the crowd gets behind us, it always helps.
“I hope the fans know that when they cheer and make a lot of noise, it helps us to get over the line to get the three points.”
TBR’s view
The stadium has given Spurs a much-needed boost, just at the right time. Some pundits criticised the decision to relocate before the end of the season, but it has dramatically improved the form of the north London side.
With a top-four spot almost secured and in the semi-finals of the Champions League, Spurs have turned what could have been a disappointing season around.
