TNT Sport pundit says £35m Liverpool player is ‘revitalised’ under Arne Slot after seeing him v Aston Villa
Liverpool picked up yet another impressive win as they saw off Aston Villa to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.
With Man City losing earlier in the evening, Liverpool knew a win would give them breathing space at the summit and they didn’t disappointed.
Goals from Darwin Nunez and then a fine individual effort from Mohamed Salah ensured a big win at Anfield.
Salah, of course, continues to shine in a Liverpool shirt and he continued his fine record against Villa.
However, according to former England Women’s player Lucy Ward, it’s the performances of Ibrahima Konate under Arne Slot that have really caught the eye.

Speaking on comms during the game with Villa, former England player Ward commented on the impact Slot has had on Konate.
And according to Ward, he is a man reborn.
“Ibrahima Konate is another who has been brilliant so far this season. He’s been revitalised. I think Arne Slot’s set-up has helped him, there’s not as much risk out of possession,” Ward said.

For a long time, there have been question marks over just who is going to be the player to step up and be the permanent partner for Virgil van Dijk.
The likes of Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, and now Konate have all had their chances and at times, done ok.
However, Konate is now flying after being given the backing of Slot and it very much seems Liverpool have got their back four settled now.
Konate has been outstanding and once again tonight, he pocketed a fine striker in Ollie Watkins.
