Werner has performed well in Postecoglou’s system since arriving on loan from RB Leipzig in January.

The Stuttgart-born forward has scored goals and provided two assists in seven Premier League appearances, and Tottenham staff are believed to be delighted with his efforts in training as well.

Tottenham have a deadline to sign 28-year-old

RB Leipzig have informed Spurs they must trigger this option before June 14th – according to – or else the forward will return to Germany and the Bundesliga side can demand whatever price they like.

Therefore, Postecoglou and his recruitment staff ideally need to make a decision on Werner immediately after the 2023/24 campaign ends in May.

On the basis of his efforts so far, it would come as a huge surprise if Spurs did not trigger this £15m option – a price that low for an experienced international footballer represents a bargain nowadays.
