‘Time to make you an honorary Yorkshireman’: Some Leeds fans react to Andrea Radrizzani’s latest tweet

A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to praise Whites owner Andrea Radrizzani in wake of the Under-23s’ Premier League 2 second division triumph on Friday night.

Mark Jackson’s charges, who needed just a point to secure the title, ran out 2-1 winners at Aston Villa – their fourth league win in a row and 17th victory of the campaign.

Sam Greenwood slammed home a superb free kick after just four minutes and Jack Jenkins made it two on the hour to put Leeds well on the way to the title.

Although the Whites were made to sweat late on following Aaron Ramsey’s own impressive set piece effort, they held on for all three points.

The result means that Leeds have won the title, and promotion to the first division, in their very first campaign at this level, after Thorp Arch was upgraded to Category One.

The Whites were previously in the Professional Development League, but next season they’ll be taking on the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea in the top division of U23s football.

Radrizzani shared a heartfelt tweet following their victory:
