Tim Sherwood thinks £22m Tottenham player could play for any team in the world

Tim Sherwood says Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min is good enough to play for any team in the world.

The pundit was speaking on the ahead of the return to Premier League action.

Son has been utterly sensational for Spurs ever since arriving at N17.

The South Korea international joined Tottenham in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported £22million fee.

Son has made 316 competitive appearances for Spurs, registering 121 goals and 71 assists.

He has also formed an incredible – indeed, almost telepathic – strike partnership with Harry Kane.

Son and Kane have combined for a record 37 Premier League goals.

“Integral”

Kane regularly features on the rumour mill, but there’s never been much speculation about Son’s future.

Sherwood appeared almost confused as to why there aren’t transfer reports featuring the 29-year-old.

“I mean, you don’t like to take Tottenham’s players away from them, certainly their best players,” said the former Spurs boss.

“But you never hear the speculation around Heung-Min Son.

I think he could play for anyone in the world, I think he’s that good.”

Sherwood then spoke about how important Son and Kane – as well as Antonio Conte – are to the club.

“Harry Kane and him are integral and Conte is integral,” he added.

If I’m Kane or Son I’m not extending the contract longer than the manager, who we believe in.

“Unless Conte wants to commit himself it’s an easy decision to make.”

Son really has been a joy to watch over the past seven years, a talented, hard-working and consistent player.

Tottenham have been lucky to have him and hopefully they can win silverware together in the next few years.
