Tim Sherwood shares how Tottenham star Tanguy Ndombele could be Antonio Conte masterstroke
that Tanguy Ndombele could be the one to surprise many under new Tottenham manager Antonio Conte.
The 52-year-old gaffer is expected to shake a few things up, after his arrival. Spurs currently sit bottom in terms of distances covered in the league.
Nuno Espirito Santo was undermined, but there is no concern of that happening under Conte. He is one of the best managers in world football.
Many Spurs players are faltering. Harry Kane is one of those – as is Dele Alli, Steven Bergwijn and certainly, Ndombele. His fitness is a question.

Sherwood has sent a warning to Ndombele regarding his fitness to get his chance under Conte – but says he could be the Italian’s surprise package.
“First and foremost, he needs fitness to play 90 minutes,” Sherwood said. “He can’t at the moment, he needs to play in a rhythm to do that.
“Has he got the mindset to do the dirty stuff, to run back as quickly as he goes towards the goal? Question marks.
“He might be the one that Conte really gets into his mindset – tell him stuff he does not necessarily believe himself, that’s what good managers do.”

Sherwood on Ndombele: Conte will change Tottenham player’s attitude
Ndombele is perceived as lazy. Multiple reports claim he turns up late to training, and that he does not give his all in Tottenham training.
That needs to change, under Conte. Indeed, if it does not, then Conte will have no hesitation in pulling the trigger on the club’s record signing.
It it is going to go one of two ways. Either Ndombele dramatically improves his fitness, and the scrutiny of Conte finally gets the best out of him.
Or, he is shipped out at the earliest opportunity. Here at TBR, we cannot see past Conte losing his patience with Ndombele and being offloaded soon.
