Tim Sherwood names the Chelsea player whose passing is genuinely awful at times
Chelsea won again at the weekend as they put on an impressive performance against Aston Villa on Sunday.
The Blues are making a real march at the moment, and while Chelsea aren’t seen as title cont🌠enders at the moment, they are in red hot form.
However, as always, there are still some issues within this squad, and Robert Sanchez has been heavily criticised this season.
Sanchez has made a number of🔯 high-profile errors this term.
Robert Sanchez mistakes this season | Result |
Gave the ball away to Carlos Baleba for Brighton goal | Chelsea 4-2 Brighton |
Accused of being scared of the ball for Liverpool goal | Liverpool 2-1 Chelsea |
Gave away a penalty vs Liverpool which VAR overturned | Liverpool 2-1 Chelsea |
Gave away a penalty vs Manchester United | Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea |
On Sunday, Sanchez was m꧙uch improved, and he even made a wonderful attack-starting pass to Nicolas Jackson at one point.
Speaking on , Tim Sherwood has been discussing Sanc▨hez, and while he was prompted to praise Sanchez’s distribution, he says that the goalkeeper is the worst short passer in the Chelsea side, claiming that he makes poor errors.

Robert Sanchez is Chelsea’s worst passer
Sherwood discussed Sanchez’s passing abil🐼ity, claiming that he’s poor when it comes to playing it short.
Sanchez has been highlighted a🙈s a problem for Chelsea this season, and Sherwood clearly isn’t sold ꩲon the goalke🌠eper.
“That wa🌟s one of the passes of the day from the goalke🦋eper?” The host said.
“Hꦍe is the worst short passer in the team, the goalkeeper. He makes poor errors, the amount of chances that come from when Sanchez tr⛄ies to pass the ball out and he just gives it to them,” Sherwood said.
Robert Sanchez passing stats this season
Sherwood says that the man is one of the worst passers in the Chelsea squad, and 💖he’s not wrong.
Indeed, Sanchez’s pไassing stats this season have been nothing short of abysmal.
In fact, Sa🌠nchez has the worst pass success rate of any player in the Chelsea sqཧuad.
Chelsea’s worst passers this season | Pass success rate |
Robert Sanchez | 72.2% |
Marc Guiu | 75% |
Nicolas Jackson | 75.1% |
Mykhaylo Mudryk | 77.1% |
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall | 78.4% |
In theory, a goa🍌lkeeper’s pass success rate should be higher than most players. After all, they have plenty of time on the ball and potentially 10 passing options open to them in front of them.
However, for some reason, Sanchez just can’t seem to find his ಞteammates, with almost 30% of his passes go🌜ing astray.
Goalkeepers’ ability on the ball is becoming more 🍬important than ever before in the Premier League, and Chelsea may need to find a better number one if they are indeed to push on and try to win the Premier League at some point.
