Tim Sherwood names the Chelsea player whose passing is genuinely awful at times
Chelsea won again at the weekend as they put on an impressive performance against Aston Villa on Sunday.
The Blues are making a real march at the moment, and while Chelsea aren’t seen as title contenders at the moment, they are in red hot form.
However, as always, there are still some issues within this squad, and Robert Sanchez has been heavily criticised this season.
Sanchez has made a number of high-profile errors this term.

On Sunday, Sanchez was much improved, and he even made a wonderful attack-starting pass to Nicolas Jackson at one point.
Speaking on , Tim Sherwood has been discussing Sanchez, and while he was prompted to praise Sanchez’s distribution, he says that the goalkeeper is the worst short passer in the Chelsea side, claiming that he makes poor errors.

Robert Sanchez is Chelsea’s worst passer
Sherwood discussed Sanchez’s passing ability, claiming that he’s poor when it comes to playing it short.
Sanchez has been highlighted as a problem for Chelsea this season, and Sherwood clearly isn’t sold on the goalkeeper.
“That was one of the passes of the day from the goalkeeper?” The host said.
“He is the worst short passer in the team, the goalkeeper. He makes poor errors, the amount of chances that come from when Sanchez tries to pass the ball out and he just gives it to them,” Sherwood said.

Sherwood says that the man is one of the worst passers in the Chelsea squad, and he’s not wrong.
Indeed, Sanchez’s passing stats this season have been nothing short of abysmal.
In fact, Sanchez has the worst pass success rate of any player in the Chelsea squad.

In theory, a goalkeeper’s pass success rate should be higher than most players. After all, they have plenty of time on the ball and potentially 10 passing options open to them in front of them.
However, for some reason, Sanchez just can’t seem to find his teammates, with almost 30% of his passes going astray.
Goalkeepers’ ability on the ball is becoming more important than ever before in the Premier League, and Chelsea may need to find a better number one if they are indeed to push on and try to win the Premier League at some point.
