Tim Sherwood gives his honest opinion on Evan Ferguson’s deadline day loan move to West Ham

West Ham United finally got their hands on a loan deal for Evan Ferguson on deadline day.

Ferguson’s move to West Ham is a straight loan deal — which was always Brighto༺n & Hove Albion chairman ಞTony Bloom’s preference.

The West Ham goalscorer has been highly-thought of for several years, with Ferguson consi♛dered one of Europe’s bes𒈔t young strikers — making his acquisition a hugely positive one for Graham Potter.

Evan Ferguson would also be excited to get started in a Hammers shirt, seeing how ಞhis career has hit a stumbling block in recent times due to injuries.

Furthermore, the 20-year-old will appreciate how much Graham Potter’s side were keen on signing him — with sources having told TBR Football that 🍃West Ham knew Ferguson’s signing may𝔍 occur last-minute for weeks.

Tim Sherwood thinks Evan Ferguson to West Ham loan deal is “a really good move”

The East London club will also be delighted that despite Arsenal and Chelsea’s in🏅terest in signing Ferguson, they won the race to secure his services.

Even Manchester City were cons✅idering making a move for Ferguson but West Ham have managed𝓀 to snap the Irishman up.

Live on Sky Sports News, Tim Sherwood claimed Ferguson’s move to the London Stadium is an excellent one: “Well-thought af♋ter this boy. He has played men’s football at 15 years of age in the league of Ireland. We know physically he is ready, look at the size of him. I heard people talki🥃ng about, and whether it was right or wrong, talking about Shearer in the early days.”

“This boy is special. He has got talent but he needs to get back playing. He has had interruptions from injuries, which never helps anyone, especially strikers who like to play in a rhythm. I think it’s a really good move for him. I think it’s exciting for West Ham and Graham Potter has absol🧜utely pulled one out for them here.”

Tim Sherwood has compared Ferguso𝓰n to Alan Shearer in the past as well, which makes his glowing verdict rather unsurprising. Ferguson, who has been lauded by James Milner as well is blessed with an eye for goal, top-class technique and most importantly, a variety of finishes in his locker — which could make him the perfect number nine for We𒆙st Ham.

Arsenal bid for Evan Ferguson a few days before deadline day

TBR Football recently revealed that a mystery club bid for Ferguson in a last-ditch attempt to sign him.

But soon after, it was revealed that Arsenal actually bid to sign Ferguson.

Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed: “They can’t do a Premier League loan that ﷺrules out Evan Ferguson. Although my understandi𓃲ng is the ‘secret’ or ‘anonymous’ club that did actually make an approach to Brighton was Arsenal and they were told very clearly that Brighton don’t want to sell, they want to loan.”

“Evan Ferguson was quite interesting because ꧙as I revealed a few weeks ago, Raheem Sterling and Neto can’t be recalled. Ar𒁃senal can’t do a loan, they have to buy, so they called up Brighton and said ‘will you sell?’ And they don’t want permanence, as it stands anyway.”

While Tottenham were also keen on signing Ferguson, the winter tr🧜ansfer window slammed shut on Monday and Graham Potter can simply focus on handing the youngster his debut against Brentford.

Ferguson is expected to play regularly at West༒ Ham, which must have been a key reason behind his decision to sign f⛦or them and the highly-rated marksman will be hoping he starts against the🦩 Bees.
