‘Ticking all boxes’… Arsenal might actually sign £94m player this summer

If the January transfer window is going to be a disappointing one for Arsenal fans, then the summer should make up for it.

Mikel Arteta decided to spend big on the likes of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz last summer, knowing it would limit his side mid-season.

And that understanding probably explains why there’s no hints at frustration stemming from Arteta that he can’t sign a striker or another profile this month.

Instead, it seems Arsenal will just chase a low-key, short-term move to cover for their unexpected injuries at the back.

Were Jurrien Timber fit right now, there probably won’t be any noise coming out of the Emirates.

But as stated, that’s definitely something that will change in the summer.

It almost seems a formality at this point that Arteta will chase a superstar striker, a goal-scorer to propel his project.

And many believe that will either be Ivan Toney or Victor Osimhen.

Moreover, following comments made by the latter yesterday, journalist thinks a summer move to Arsenal could be very realistic.

Victor Osimhen hints at move to Arsenal in summer window

Sharing his thoughts on X, Palmeri was analysing the prospect of Osimhen joining Arsenal among other top European clubs.

Palmeri said: “So, Osimhen will leave Napoli this summer. His goal is [the] Premier League.

“His [release] clause is 130m€, but Napoli could accept till 110m€.

“Bayern, PSG and Real Madrid could have room and money. Who in [the] Premier?

“Arsenal the one ticking all boxes: needing a n9, chance to spend.”

And there really is merit to the journalist’s words.

Arsenal will be a force in the summer once again, and they’ve proven with their deal for Declan Rice that they will pay a high price for the right player.

Perhaps a deal for Ivan Toney would represent better value for Arsenal considering the 12 months he’ll have left on his contract during the summer window.

But that doesn’t mean that Arsenal wouldn’t push the boat out for a player like Osimhen.

That being said, the Napoli striker may take some convincing to head to North London if Arsenal endure another trophyless season.

And if that does prove an issue, Alan Shearer has noticed a striker who could benefit a side like Arteta’s
