Three ways Manchester United could line-up with Paul Pogba

𓂃A sensational move for Paul Pogba has been the story on everyone’s lips, with  apparently prepared to part with a staggering £100 million in order to secure his services for next season. Although Real Madrid are another interested party in the on-running transfer saga, the vast sum which the Old Trafford outfit seem to be offering may well be the deciding factor.

💝There is no doubt that the 23-year-old Frenchman holds outstanding quality and natural talent, but what do Jose Mourinho and Edward Woodward see in Pogba that would justify a world-record outlay? As an individual, there are those in the game which are more gifted and potentially have more match-winning capabilities – such as Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo and Suarez – the Juventus midfielder can influence proceedings over so many areas of the pitch that his contributions are arguably just as invaluable.

ꩵSo, Pogba is more than capable of becoming a stalwart of the United midfield under Jose Mourinho, but how can The Red Devils line up with him in their side? Over the next few pages, some of the most favourable systems are examined, demonstrating the versatility of the man. Let us know your thoughts on each option in the comments section below, including which you think would be the most effective.

4-2-3-1

🅰As an absolute physical specimen, Paul Pogba is a force of nature in the heart of midfield, dominating the opposition in that area and establishing a region of control that then allows the rest of his team to function most efficiently. In a 4-2-3-1, Pogba could arguably contribute in any of the five midfield positions, but the greatest impact will come from the Frenchman in either of the deep-lying two.

🅷Alongside the more cultured but ageing Bastian Schweinsteiger, Paul Pogba adds a supremely dynamic edge to the middle of the park for Manchester United. With Wayne Rooney pushed on ahead of him to support Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Pogba would be the man required to drive The Red Devils forward from deeper areas, while also dictating the pace of play to a certain degree, and of course advancing in a creative role himself.

🅰Summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan will of course pick up a significant proportion of the creative burden, with the former Dortmund man able to pick out his team’s strikers with unerring accuracy. In a 4-2-3-1, the Armenian could realistically operate anywhere along the three behind the main forward, with Paul Pogba supplying the ammunition with great quality and frequency.

♒In this system and with these players at their disposal, Manchester United will be a serious threat to anyone that they encounter, and the presence of Paul Pogba at the heart of it will only add to the exceptional team that is having its foundations built over the summer months under Mourinho.
