Three things we learnt from West Brom’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur had a late Dele Alli goal to thank for rescuing a point in the West Midlands.

Tony Pulis’ West Brom side went ahead on 82 minutes and largely frustrated the undefeated Londoners who enjoyed a whopping 71% of possession, had 20 shots (eight of which were on target), compared to West Brom’s four shots on target.

The Baggies dug in and received a hard earned point for their efforts – which may well be harsh on Spurs, but it shows the improvements the Baggies are making as a side. To make matters worse for Mauricio Pochettino, centre back Toby Alderweireld was stretchered off after an hour after landing awkwardly on his leg.

Argentine Pochettino says (at the time of writing at least) it is unknown how severe the injury is to the Belgian international, but it could well be a long stint on the sidelines. We wish Toby a speedy recovery.

So here are three things we learnt from West Brom’s draw with the Lilywhites.
