Three things we learnt from Tottenham’s 3-0 FA Cup win at Fulham

Tottenham advanced to their first FA Cup quarter-finals since 2012 after dispatching of Championship side Fulham 3-0. A typically clinical hat-trick from Harry Kane inspired them to victory in West London as they now head into another geographical derby with Millwall in the last eight. Mauricio Pochettino’s side outclassed the their Championship opponents as they move into the next round as one of the favourites to win the FA Cup this year. Here are three things we have learnt from Spurs’ confidence-boosting result.

Harry Kane is vital

Tottenham’s talisman scored his second hat-trick of 2017, further emphasising his importance to the side. As seen in losses at Liverpool and Gent, if Kane isn’t on the scoresheet, the goals aren’t as easy to come by. In pivotal games this season, Kane has normally stood-out and delivered the goods, whilst summer signing Vincent Jansen has struggled to adjust to the English game. Starting with the forward was a real statement of intent in this competition from Mauricio Pochettino.  Despite scoring against Wycombe, Jansen was benched and with Kane starting in Belgium as well, it’s clear that the Spurs manager knows how vital he is to the club’s trophy aspirations.
