Three things learnt as Everton frustrated Manchester United at Old Trafford
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury-time spot-kick spared Manchester United’s blushes and kept their unbeaten run intact against a stubborn Everton side at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.
Going into the match with the chance to cut the gap to Manchester City to just two points, Phil Jagielka gave the visitors an early lead with a neat flick through the legs of David de Gea.
Ibrahimovic went close twice, Paul Pogba cannoned a header back off the woodwork minutes after coming on and the Swede had a goal ruled out for offside as United pushed to find a late equaliser.
With less than a minute of added time to go, Ashley Williams recklessly dived and handballed a goal-bound Luke Shaw shot, giving Ibrahimovic the chance to seal a draw with the last kick of the game.
