Three things that we learnt: Leicester City 1-2 West Brom

Tony Pulis doesn’t get relegated

The West Brom manager is one that plays the odds and doesn’t like to stray too far from what he knows. He has never been relegated using these methods, so why is there a need to change now? The owners clearly like his work after he was given a contract extension a couple of weeks ago. That said, the supporters don’t and there was more distress on the terraces after it was announced that Pulis was given a new deal.

However, the main aim for West Brom is to remain as a Premier League club and they know that Pulis offers them the best chance of doing so. Their early season form suggests that they are set to spend another year being clear of the bottom three. They are currently 11th and this performance showed the style of play that we come to expect from West Brom. It won’t be exciting for supporters, but Pulis isn’t going anywhere and another season in mid table beckons.
