Three things that must happen for Liverpool to count deadline day as a success

Deadline day for the summer transfer window is now upon🌜 us and Liverpool look t♒o be one clubs who may be very busy, with Jurgen Klopp looking to strengthen some key areas.

The Merseysiders have had a fairly solid window so far, securing two bargains in full-back Andrew Robertson and former Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke, whilst Mohamed Salah, signed ⛦from Roma, has returned to the Premier League with a point to prove and looks very intent🎃 on doing so, assisting two and scoring two in three games.

However, as has been the issue for many seasons, defence remains a꧒n area of weakness. Elsewhere, more depth is needed as one or two injuries in crucial positions could be very costly to Klopp’s side and their hopes this season.

So, what should Liverpool be looking to do as the♉ transfer window comes to a close?

Sort out Mamadou Sakho’s future

The Frenchman has played very little under Jurgen Klopp🌺 and after impressing at Crystal Palace on loan, his future lo𒊎oks to be in doubt.

The German boss hasn’t altered his stanꦅce on Sakho, meaning first-team action is very unlikely for the centre-back, despite Liverpool’s ongoing struggles.

Crystal Palace had a £25 milli🌞on bid for the French defender rejected, according to , but Klopp would be wise to sanction his exit, especially if he is to play no part in Liverpool’s season.

Make a final push for Southampton’s Virgil van Djik

One of the transﷺfer sagas of the summer, Virgil van Djik’s exit from Southampton has looked on and off all window, but with deadline day upon us, the Dutch international could very well get his much-wanted exit from the South-Coast club.

Van Djik would certainly be a presence in the Reds’ back four, a physical figure, dominanꦚt in the air and an individual that may become a leader in Klopp’s side.

It remains to be seen whether a deal can be completed, however. The have suggested that Southampton are relaxed about the situation surrounding ꦇtheir star man and no Liverpool bid has been made. Nonetheless, this saga is sure to go right to the wire.

Sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

One transfer story that has developed dramatically recently is Liverpool’s interest in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. As reported by , the Reds have agreed a £40 million fee for the Englishman✅.

A player capable of filling a number of roles and positions, Oxlade-Chamberlian would be the perfect squad player and would compete with the likes of Emre Can, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson for a midfield position, not to mention offering vital squad depth if Liverpool wish to win things domesti﷽cally, and in Europe.
