Three things learnt as Everton inflicted Craig Shakespeare’s first defeat as Leicester City manager
Two goals from Romelu Lukaku ensured that Craig Shakespeare had his first taste of defeat as Leicester City manager in a thrilling encounter at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
Everton teenager Tom Davies put the hosts ahead after only 31 seconds, before two goals in the space of five minutes from Islam Slimani and Marc Albrighton put Leicester’s noses in front.
Lukaku headed in Ross Barkley’s cross to draw the Toffees level whilst Phil Jagielka scored in his second consecutive game from a corner to put Ronald Koeman’s side ahead before half-time.
In a calmer second-half, Lukaku was in the right place at the right time to stab into the corner and secure all three points for Everton, who remain seven points outside the Champions League spots.
