Three Spurs youngsters to watch out for in 2021: 16-year-old and loaned-out midfielder included

After a disappointing end to 2019, Tottenham Hotspur have bounced back extremely well in their first full year under Jose Mourinho.

Spurs have put themselves in title contention in the Premier League. Meanwhile, they are through to the knockout stages of the Europa League and the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

There is plenty for Tottenham fans to be excited about. And the cluster of incredibly talented young players coming through is one of the many reasons for optimism heading into 2021.

With that in mind, here is a look at TBR’s three Tottenham youngsters to look out for over the next 12 months…

Alfie Devine

Jose Mourinho has shown that he is not afraid to hand 16-year-olds opportunities during his time at Spurs.

Dane Scarlett recently made his Spurs debut in the Europa League. And Alfie Devine may be a contender to follow in his footsteps and make a first-team bow at some stage.

The former Wigan man can perhaps set his sights on the FA Cup tie against Marine.

Jack Clarke

Jack Clarke has made a couple of substitute appearances for the Tottenham first-team this season. And the exciting winger will be targeting more game-time in the coming months.

The £10 million prospect has not had the easiest time since being on Spurs’ books (t). But he looks to have the natural talent to surprise many.

Oliver Skipp

The decision to loan Oliver Skipp to Norwich City is looking inspired right now. The midfielder has been a key feature of Daniel Farke’s plans this season. And he is showing that he is more than good enough to play in the Championship.

He obviously needs to make the further step up upon his return in the summer. But it did appear that he was already not that far away before he headed to Carrow Road. So perhaps it should not be a surprise if he is very much in Mourinho’s plans at the start of next season.
