After bring told he can leave Arsenal on loan, Jack Wilshere has been inundated with offers from across the Premier League and Europe, but it now that Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are two sides ready to do battle for the 24-year-old.
However, anything can happen on deadline day, so don’t rule out Southampton coming into the race to loan the Englishman for the season. He would fit in well with Claude Puel’s style, and is fairly similar to the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Jordy Clasie, whilst probably providing a slight upgrade in quality on Steven Davis.
But the midfielder is not really a signing that Southampton need to make. Out of their whole line up, central midfield is an area where the Saints are relatively well stocked, making a move for Wilshere unlikely. Still, he would bring European experience to the side, something that is much needed ahead of their Europa League campaign and would be a good place for Wilshere to go an remain at a high level.
