Three reasons why West Ham player can break into best XI next season

After a stunning season that saw West Ham finish sixth in the Premier League, minds will already turn towards what kind of shape they’ll be in next year. Said Benrahma, in particular, is someone that next season should have big plans.

They have the excitement of the Europa League ahead of them, as well as trying to repeat their success in the league.

Hammers boss David Moyes stumbled on a fairly settled XI. However, here are three reasons why West Ham attacker Benrahma can be the player to force his way into the best line-up next season.

Brilliant finish from Benrahma to 2020/21 West Ham campaign

Benrahma did finish the league season strongly in May.

The 25-year-old winger wouldn’t be considered in the best XI over the course of the West Ham season, especially as he started just five of the final 15 league games.

However, signs towards the back end suggested he was coming into his own.

The Algeria international managed his first Hammers goal off the bench against Brighton, as well as assisting against both West Brom and Burnley.

He’s one of the players with real momentum going into next year. Scottish manager Moyes will surely have to give him a real crack at the beginning of next season of forcing his way into the XI on a permanent basis.

Return of fans next season

It’s still unsure when fall capacity crowds will be back in sport, but having a small allocation for the final two league matches of the season made a big difference to teams.

Benrahma is a player that falls into the category of someone who plays up to supporters.

He’s a flair player with every trick in the book, something only shown in glimpses on the TV.

There is going to be such a demand to see more of him next year, and it’ll be no surprise to see him raise him game when he’s oozing with confidence trying to excite fans.

Perfect style for low block defence

One of West Ham’s greatest strengths this season has been hitting teams with devastating counter-attacks.

However, that secret is no more.

They can expect far more opponents to set up tactically next season to nullify the counter and using a low block defence is the best way to do it.

If West Ham are trying to break stubborn defences down, Benrahma is the ace up the sleeve who can make something out of nothing in tight spaces.
