Three players who impressed during Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Wolves

Chelsea travelled to the Molineux Stadium looking to extend their unbeaten run to eight games. After a tough first half, the Blues eventually managed to beat a Wolves side, who have already knocked Liverpool out the this year’s FA Cup.

Antonio Conte made several changes to the team that has served them so well this season, with the three centre-backs all rotating. The likes of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard still started for Chelsea, in what was a strong line-up, but some faces that haven’t been given that much game-time this season came in and make an impression.

Below are three players who impressed as Chelsea progressed into the FA Cup quarter-finals…

Cesc Fabregas

The Spaniard hasn’t featured much for Chelsea this season, as the partnership of N’golo Kante and Nemanja Matic has consistently impressed. Having featured only 16 times in the Premier League, scoring twice and assisting six times, Fabregas has to make an impact every time he gets the chance.

Given a starting berth alongside Nathaniel Chalobah, the Spaniard was rarely seen on the ball in the first half as Wolves pressed to seize an advantage. However, as the Midlands side tired and the game opened up, his quality was evident.

His perfectly waited ball to Willian would have seen him get an assist to his name if it had not been for some excellent defending by Kourtney Hause. The Spaniard gained control of the tie as Chelsea grew in stature during the second-half.
