Three players Swansea should target during the January transfer window
Mamadou Sakho
Swansea have already conceded 41 goals in the Premier League this campaign and their defensive line requires some reinforcements in order to plug the leaking holes. Mamadou Sakho would add experience and quality to The Swans’ line-up and is readily available after falling out of favour at Liverpool. The French defender has been frozen out at Anfield after a number of disciplinary issues behind-the-scenes and is believed to be open to the prospect of loan move to another English club.
The 26-year-old has already demonstrated himself to be a proven entity in the Premier League and his ability to play at either centre-half or full-back would provide any future manager with plenty of opportunity to alter Swansea’s shape and structure. Possessing pace, aerial prowess and strength, Sakho has all of the attributes required to fit into The Swans’ defensive unit and make a significant difference. Liverpool would be willing to contribute towards the Frenchman’s wages and the player himself will be keen to get back playing and put himself in the proverbial shop window as he looks to secure a permanent move in the summer.
The Welsh club may face competition from a number of French teams across the channel , but Sakho offers a financially viable option that will add quality to the current Swansea squad.
