Three players Newcastle are looking at signing including £50m forward Alan Shearer has called ‘outstanding’
Newcastle United have a busy summer on the cards as they look to shape their squad ahead of their Champions League return.
This season, the Magpies’ fifth-placed Premier League finish proved enough to qualify for the Champions League.
Despite Paul Mitchell departing Newcastle, leaving Eddie Howe without a Director of Football, the club has numerous targets lined up.
A report has now emerged naming three players Newcastle are keen on signing, including a £50million forward Alan Shearer recently deemed “outstanding”.

James Trafford, Marc Guehi and Bryan Mbeumo wanted by Newcastle
Newcastle’s current situation behind the scenes, along with their plans for the summer, is the subject of an in-depth article in .
‘A goalkeeper, centre-back, right-winger and potentially a striker are being sought,’ the article read.
Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo and Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford are reportedly among the players ‘heavily discussed’.
Ipswich Town centre-forward Liam Delap was also on that list, but he now appears to be Chelsea-bound.
The report added that ‘the recruitment department feel they are ready to move swiftly, even if a signing during the early-June window appears ambitious.’
The article also claimed that a number of Newcastle insiders have reiterated Mitchell’s declaration that “the club is in a fantastic position to continue building” in the upcoming window.

The state of play involving Newcastle and James Trafford, Marc Guehi and Bryan Mbeumo
Newcastle appear to have missed out on Delap, who is now closing in on a move to Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Trafford is reportedly really keen on joining Newcastle, but it looks as though the Magpies are focusing on other targets.
Newcastle are reported to be closing in on a move for Espanyol shot-stopper Joan Garcia.
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has confirmed that Newcastle remain keen on Guehi – but it won’t be easy to get a deal over the line.
“Last year they could not agree terms on a deal, and this summer won’t be any easier,” Bailey says. “Steve Parish won’t let him go for a bargain fee.”
As for Mbeumo, a player Alan Shearer called “outstanding” on the Premier League , the Magpies are showing concrete interest.
It has been reported that Newcastle are ready to bid for Mbeumo, and a bid of £50-60million could be enough.
