Three players Manchester United should look to sell in order to progress this summer
As Jose Mou𓂃rinho looks to capitalise on what has been a fairly successful first season for him and Manchester United, it is now worth looking towards the sum🅘mer transfer window.
The Portuguese manager will be eag𝔉er to improve his squad, but who coul♔d be leaving the Red Devils this summer?
Either surplus to requirements, coming to the end of their careers or in helping fund another transfer, he🔯re are three players who look set to exit the biggest club in English football…
Wayne Rooney
Wayne Rooney, a boy who came to Man United aged 18 and who has been a fantastic servant to the club, now loo🗹ks set to say a final goodbye. Now 31, the Englishman seems half the player he once was and has fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho. He did break Sir Bobby Charlton’s all-time top goalscoring record this season – a fantastic feat – but that will sadly not be enough to keep him at the club.
He is currently on £300,000-a-week – a huge amount of money that could instead be used in bringing ܫin one or two big signings this summer. With from England and abroad, inc🧸luding a return to his home club Everton, Rooney looks set to put an end to what has been a brilliant period at Manchester United.
Luke Shaw
Having come under from Mourinho for a lack of hard work and commitment, Luke Shaw looks like another player that will be leaving United this summer. The left-back signed for the Manchester club in 2014 for a reported fee of £30 million. However, an injury-ridden spell has seen the 21-year-old never really impress, and the Old Trafford faithful have only seen 🍎ཧglimpses of what Shaw is capable of.
With that, and a new contract looking increasingly unlikely, the Red Devils would be wise to cash in this summer. The p💃layer still has an abundance of potential and there i🅺s sure to be admirers of the ex-Southampton man.
Marouane Fellaini
Despite not having a particularly bad campaign with United, the big Belgian is a player United should look to sell. He has played a fairly large role this season, partly because of a numb﷽er of injuries within the United squad, but also because of what he offers aerially – something manager Jose Mourinho has looked to exploit as they have often resorted to ‘route one’ thi🧜s season.
Fellaini often comes under the most criticism from ꦕRed Devils fans and the media, and if United are to go back to free-flowing attacking🔴 football that they were treated to under Sir Alex Ferguson for so many years, the 29-year-old is likely a player who will make way. It is a move that could really benefit the the Red Devils’ squad in the long-term.
