Three players Manchester City should sign on deadline day
Manchester City have been one of a number of big spenders this summer, yet, it looks as though their investments will pay off. Full-backs Kyle Walker, Danilo and Benjamin Mendy are definite upgrades on the likes of Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna, while the arrival of Ederson has reduced the stress on the underwhelming Claudio Bravo. The shot-stopper, who signed from Benfica, looks to be an astute signing in terms of his passing accuracy and bal💧l skills, however, his goalkeeping ability is yet to be r🔯eally tested.
Further forward, Monaco’s Bernardo Silva has added more creativity and flair to City’s🐷 already impressive attacking unit, whilst Pep Guardiola has also utilised this transfer window to clear some deadwood. Aleksander Kolarov has been sold to Roma and Samir Nasri, despite his obvious talent, has been let go. Others, like Fernando and Bacary Sagna, have also been cut from the clubs wage bill.
Guardiola has certainly strengthened, but there are still areas that could be improved. Here are three signings๊ Manchester City should be looking to make this deadline day:
Alexis Sanchez
Having worked for Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, Sanchez could be set for a reunion with his former coach at Manchester City. The Cityzens have been heavily🙈 linked to the Chilean winger and in the most recent reports, the Manchester club have sent out members of their legal and medical team to finalise a deal, according to the .
A world-class ꧅winger, if Sanchez was to move north, he would make City’s attacking outlet incredibly strong. His ability to beat a man and his knack for scoring crucial goals would surely make Guardiola’s side the title favourites.
Virgil van Dijk
Perhaps needed more than Sanchez, Virgil van Dijk is a🌳 player that could really strengthen City. The Southampton star has developed into one of the best defenders in the Premier League, and a move to a top side looked inevitable this summer. Yet, the Saints h൲ave stood firm and the Dutchman is yet to make an exit.
In June, the had reported that City were to sign Van Dijk, yet nothing official was announced. On the last day of the window, one final push shou𒉰ld be made to bring the centre-back to Manchester.
Jonny Evans
Certainly a more realistic p❀urchase than Van Dijk, if Jonny Evans was to join City, he would definitely improve them defensively. The West Brom man is no𒀰-nonsense centre-back and a player that would compliment Guardiola’s ball-players perfectly. Next to a defender like Evans, John Stones would have more freedom and he could flourish.
report that City are ready to make a 🉐move for Evans, but they can’𓆉t before they have offloaded Eliaquim Mangala, who isn’t keen in joining West Brom as part of a swap deal.
