Three players Liverpool could sell in January transfer window

Liverpool have already brought in Takumi Minamino from RedBull Salzburg ahead of the January transfer window, but Jurgen Klopp may elect to offload some of his star-stuuded squad. Here are the three most-likely players to leave in January:

Rhian Brewster

Brewster has clocked up two senior appearances for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup this season, but the chances of the teenage striker breaking into the starting eleven is almost next to zero.

He remains third-choice striker at Anfield behind the excellent Roberto Firmino, while Divock Origi continues to play back-up. Brewster, though, has very little chance of getting past those players. A loan move would be perfect, and

Adam Lallana

Playmaker Lallana remains a crucial part of the side and was regularly used in the Club World Cup, as well as scoring a crucial goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford in a 1-1 draw.

However, Lallana is out of contract at the end of the season and the former England international may now see his game time reduced – following the signing of Minamino. If Liverpool need to cash in, they will have to sell Lallana next month.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Similarly to Lallana, the signing of Minamino also puts Shaqiri’s spot in the side under the spotlight. The Switzerland international has been in and out of the side of late, with injury hampering his progress.

It is unlikely, though, that Shaqiri will leave the club in the near future. But if an interested party makes an offer, Liverpool’s position on the former Stoke City may become slightly more flexible than it had been before.
