Three players Leicester City should target during the January transfer window
Looking at the current Premier League table, it’s hard to believe that Leicester City were champions of England just seven months ago.
The Foxes now sit in 17th position, only three points ahead of the relegation places, and despite their decent Champions League debut which sees them in the last-16 against Sevilla, Claudio Ranieri needs to be really careful before his side get dragged into a relegation battle for real.
One thing that’s obvious is that the Italian needs to address the situation at the King Power Stadium and bring in fresh blood; his summer signing of Islam Slimani has been one of few bright sparks this season, but last years’ stars Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Danny Drinkwater have all struggled to keep up with the high standards that they set last campaign.

Leon Bailey
With the dangerous duo of Mahrez and Vardy not making as much as an impact this season as last year, and new striker Ahmed Musa still adjusting to Premier League life, Leicester are desperately in need of someone to come in and find the back of the net.
This is where Leon Bailey, the 19-year-old teenage star from Genk, could fit in perfectly.
Bailey has been outstanding for the Belgian side over the last few months, scoring three times in the Europa League qualifiers and four times in the group stage to see himself named in the team of the tournament so far.
The winger, who could operate perfectly on the opposing wing to Mahrez, won the award for Belgian Young Footballer of the Year at the end of the 2015/16 season and is hotly-tipped to become one of the hottest young prospects in world football over the next few years.
by Genk technical director Dmitri de Conde that he won’t stand in the way if a big English club comes in should an appropriate offer be made.
“If mega bids, by Belgian standards, are made, then we cannot reject it, and if the boys also feel ready for a step up then it will be very difficult to keep them in Genk”, he said.
“I must be ready with alternatives.”
However Manchester United are allegedly also in the running for the teenager, so if Leicester are to secure their man then Ranieri needs to act fast when the window opens next month.
