Celtic need strengthening in a number of positions, with big-hitters leaving the club at the end of their contracts this summer. Right-back, centre-back and another winger are likely to be priorities.
Mikael Lustig leaves a gap on the side of defence, while Dedryck Boyata is likely to leave too. Filip Benkovic is only on loan, while back-up for James Forrest and Scott Sinclair is a must.
Here are three out-of-contract players Celtic should consider, one in each position.
Carl Jenkinson

Perhaps not the most alluring of signings, but on a free, the Arsenal right-back would be an excellent addition. A one-time England international, Jenkinson would suit Celtic’s attacking style to a tee.
On a free, the 27-year-old would be a useful signing and certainly improve upon the performances of Lustig, which have begun to deteriorate in recent months.
Axel Tuanzebe

At centre-back, Celtic need to bring in a player that has years ahead of him. With Boyata and Benkovic set to leave, the Scottish champions need a rock-solid defender who has potential to become another Bobo Balde.
Tuanzebe, 21, can be that man. An excellent campaign on loan at Aston Villa in the English Championship has not changed Manchester United’s decision to let his contract expire – and Celtic have got to take advantage.
Ryan Babel

Bit of a left-wing signing – excuse the pun – this one would be. But Babel is out of contract at Fulham and is hardly going to remain with the Cottagers with relegation looking likely.
Still only 32 years of age and with plenty of European pedigree, Babel could take Celtic to the next level in either the Champions League or the Europa League. His wages could be a problem.
