Three key stats ahead of Southampton vs Tottenham

The final game of the Christm🌊as round of fixtures takes place two days after the bulk of the action on Boxing Day and sees Mauricio Pochettino return to St. Mary’s Stadium, taking his Tottenham side to face Southampton.

Spurs have overcome some recent poor form to recover some๊ ground on ဣthe top four, but have struggled on the road in recent weeks.

As for Southampton, they are chugging along quite nicely in the upper reaches of the mid-table p✤lacings and will look for another win to cap aꦫn excellent 2016.

Here are three key stats ahead of the game:

33 – A low scoring encounter?

Southampton have the third best defensive record in the Premier League so far, but this has had a negative effect on the other side of their game as 🌌well.

The Saints have conceded just 16 goals in 17 games so far, but have scored only 17 in return. Only Middlesbrough, Hull anꦆd Sunderland have scored 🧸less and the total of 33 goals seen in Southampton matches is the lowest seen in the division so far this season.

🐻Tottenham, meanwhile, have only conceded 12 times in the league. Both defences have been exc♈ellent so far this season.
