Three key passes, 90.5% success rate: Rangers star sends reminder to Gerrard

Rangers earned a huge 6-1 win away from Ibrox on Sunday – and Steven Davis has sent a reminder to Steven Gerrard with his excellent display.

Rangers came into the match having drawn two of their last three Scottish Premiership games. A win was needed, especially with Celtic drawing.

It resulted in a brilliant 6-1 win at Fir Park over Motherwell, with Gerrard bringing in the likes of Davis, Fashion Sakala and Scott Arfield.

Davis had only started one of the previous five league games for Rangers – with Gerrard preferring John Lundstram. But Davis started on Sunday.

He was impeccable in holding midfield. While the plaudits will go to hat-trick hero Sakala, and the creativity of James Tavernier, Davis sparkled.

Davis stats: Rangers star gives Gerrard a reminder on Sunday

, David completed 76 of his 84 passes – a huge 90.5% pass rate. That is more than any other player on the pitch.

Not only that, but Davis was just as effective in both attack and in defence. He laid on the assist for Sakala’s hat-trick goal, three key passes in total.

The Northern Ireland legend was joint first in terms of tackles, with Leon Balogun and Davis on three. Two interceptions, again, top of the table.

Davis was perfect as Rangers cruised to a brilliant win. Having struggled to start much of late, it was a performance that will serve as a reminder.
